Privacy policy

When you paste an ingredient list, it is matched against a dataset that your browser downloads from this site. The text you paste is not sent to our server or to anyone else, is not stored, and is gone when you leave the page.

Analytics. Pages load a script from Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Ahrefs describes the service as cookieless: it does not set cookies, does not build cross-site profiles, and does not store IP addresses in identifiable form. We see aggregate counts, referrers, countries and device types, not individuals. Ahrefs' own policy is at ahrefs.com/privacy.

Server logs. The site is hosted on DigitalOcean. Like any web server, it records requests, including IP address, user agent and the page requested, in short-lived logs used for keeping the site running.

Fonts. Pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those files from Google's servers, which see your IP address in the process. Google's policy for the Fonts service is at developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy.

That is the whole list. There are no accounts, no forms that store anything, no newsletter, and no advertising cookies.

Product links in the "non-comedogenic swaps" block go to third-party retailers. Once you leave this site, their privacy policies apply. Some of those links may become affiliate links, in which case the retailer or its network may set a cookie to attribute a purchase to this site. Any page carrying affiliate links says so on that page.

The site shows no advertising today. If that changes, this page will be updated before any ad code goes live, naming the provider and the cookies involved.

Because we hold no personal data about visitors, there is nothing to export or delete on request. If you believe we hold something about you, or have any question about this policy, use the contact page.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects nothing from them.

Changes to this policy are posted here with a new effective date. The site's source is versioned, so every previous wording is recoverable.
