Fragrance-free checker
Paste an ingredient list. We read every name and tell you which ones fall in the fragrance family under INCI naming rules — and why. No ratings, no verdict on the product, no advice.
What counts as fragrance here
Flags the fragrance declaration itself (fragrance, parfum, aroma, perfume); every fragrance allergen the EU requires to be named on the label — the original 26 (limonene, linalool, citral, geraniol, coumarin…) plus the additions in Regulation (EU) 2023/1545 (menthol, camphor, vanillin, pinene, terpineol, carvone, the named lavender, rose, citrus-peel, eucalyptus and mint oils, and others), mandatory on new EU products from 31 July 2026; and any other volatile botanical oil listed as a peel, flower, leaf, bark, wood or needle oil. Fixed seed, nut and fruit oils are not fragrance and are not flagged. Note: “unscented” products can still contain a masking fragrance.
This is a name check on the list you paste: each ingredient name is tested against the naming rules above. It cannot see trade names, undeclared components, or a brand's own definition of “fragrance-free” — that claim is theirs. If a name is missed or wrongly matched, tell us.

The main checker matches each ingredient against published comedogenicity ratings with their source and confidence tier. The two checks are independent: a list can match none of the rules on this page and still contain a 5/5 ingredient, or the reverse.
